According to Wiktionary, a luminarium is “a walk-in sculpture designed as an artistic display of light and color.”
In a metaphorical sense, this is what Spirit of Ink is meant to be–a place of “light and color” for fiction writers who are passionate about the craft of writing. Yes, we talk about other things, like book promotion, building email lists, and navigating the various paths to publication. These are all important things for those of us who build our lives around telling stories.
But our true North star is to support and encourage writers. Pursuing a creative life isn’t always easy, and it’s vital to remember why we do it. Why we love it. Why, even in the face of frustration and sometimes despair, it also brings us joy.
Each writer has a different journey, but our paths entwine. We meet at the crossroads–a first draft, a completed revision, a breakthrough, publication. Sometimes our paths converge.
